Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 September 2026

The Homelab Bench (thehomelabbench.com) is operated from Ireland. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What we collect

We collect as little as possible.

  • Server and security logs. Our site is served through Cloudflare, which processes visitor IP addresses, browser type and request details to deliver content and block abusive traffic. Cloudflare retains this data for a short period under its own privacy policy. We do not run analytics that track individual visitors.
  • Contact. If you email us, we keep your message and address for as long as needed to reply and follow up.
  • Comments. Comments are disabled on this site.

We do not sell, rent or share personal data with third parties for marketing.

Cookies

We set no tracking or advertising cookies of our own. Cloudflare may set a strictly-necessary security cookie to protect the site from automated abuse. If you follow an affiliate link to Amazon, Amazon sets its own cookies on its own site; that is governed by Amazon’s privacy notice, not ours.

Affiliate links

Some links go to retailers, primarily Amazon, through affiliate programmes. The retailer may record that you arrived from this site in order to attribute a commission. No personal data is passed from us to the retailer.

Legal basis

We process the limited data above on the basis of legitimate interest: keeping the site online and secure, and replying when you contact us.

Your rights

Under GDPR you can ask what data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to its processing. Email [email protected] and we’ll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).

Children

This site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We’ll update this page if our practices change and note the date at the top.
